Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, zGlue
As CEO of zGlue, Dr. Ming Zhang is responsible for shaping the strategic direction and running all facets of zGlue’s business operations. Prior to co-founding zGlue in 2014 with Dr. Jawad Nasrullah and Myron Shak, Zhang led the Design Technology Department at Samsung System LSI’s Silicon Valley office. In this role, he led the department’s R&D efforts and supported key U.S. customers on a full suite of SoC manufacturing and design methodologies.
Previously, Zhang was a senior staff architect at Intel, where he was responsible for DFX for multiple products, and led the development of a corporate-level, seven-year strategic plan on energy-efficient mobile platforms, while managing a cross-geographical & cross-functional team. Zhang also worked at a big data startup in Silicon Valley, where he managed the development efforts on machine-learning algorithms, software and cloud infrastructure.
Zhang holds more than 20 U.S. patents on reliable systems and nanotechnology. He earned his Ph.D. in electrical engineering with a focus on circuit and system RAS (reliability, availability, serviceability) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He also holds a master’s degree in electrical engineering with a focus on MEMS from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s degree in physics from Peking University in China.
