Tan jianrong is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering who is a native of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province, Chief Scientist of the National 973 Project, Distinguished Professor and Doctoral Supervisor of Zhejiang University. The Vice Director of Academic Committee of Zhejiang University, Chief Engineer of Industrial Technology Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Honorary President of Robot Research Institute of Zhejiang University, Chairman of China Big Data Technology Application Industry Alliance, Vice Chairman of China Mechanical Engineering Society, Vice Chairman of China Graphic Society.
He's Mainly engaged in data modeling and virtual reality, digital design and the research of intelligent manufacturing, and put forward many kinds of customization design technology and performance of digital prototype design technology and parameter analysis and the matching design technology. He was awarded several prizes for Scientific and Technology Progress, including Four Second Class Prizes of The State Scientific and Technological Progress Award, Seven First Prize of the Provincial Scientific and Technological Progress, and three National Excellent Teaching Achievements Awards for Teaching Achievement include one first prize, two second prize. The proposed technology had been incorporated into the software. He had developed and obtained computer software copyright registration rights and 56 technical invention patents. The research results have been successfully applied in a number of large backbone enterprises. He was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2007.
