The latest official data shows that China's actual use of foreign direct investment surged 6.2 percent year-on-year to 999.98 billion yuan ($154.6 billion) in 2020, a historic high. 

It reflects foreign investors' strengthened confidence in doing business in the country, according to analysts and business executives. 

Their confidence has been inspired by reduced barriers to investment, improvement of the business environment and, most important, optimism over China's economic outlook under the new "dual circulation" development paradigm, they said. 

China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) acts as a bridge for exchanges and win-win cooperation between domestic and overseas enterprises, by adhering to open and inclusive attitudes. 

A total of 24 countries, regions, and international organizations participated offline in the 22nd CHTF, which was held in Shenzhen from Nov 11 to 15, 2020, while 29 attended the online exhibition. Countries like Luxembourg, Montenegro, Slovenia and Uruguay took part in the CHTF for the first time.  

The Consulate General of the Republic of Austria in Guangzhou organized 10 enterprises in the fields of electronic information, artificial intelligence and new materials to attend the CHTF, including the world's leading manufacturer of fire service technology, Rosenbauer Group. 

The Nordic Innovation and Entrepreneurship Base led seven enterprises from Finland and Sweden in the fields of electronic information, intelligent manufacturing, medical equipment, energy conservation, environmental protection, and education to the CHTF. 

The Belt and Road Pavilion and the foreign group exhibition area innovatively adopted an online and offline integrated exhibition model. As part of the online exhibition, cutting-edge technologies like 5G+ ultra-high-definition video, 360-degree VR real scene display and 3D virtual reality were set up in an international remote exhibition center.
