Dr. Hu Ziqiang, also known as Zack Hu, finished PhD in 1992 from Mechanical Engineering in Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana. He got the Purdue University Distinguished Mechanical Engineering Award and Distinguished Alumni Award.
In 1994, he joined GE and worked there for 12 years. He was the principle engineer and project leader.
Since February 2006, he joined Samsung as deputy general manager for Suzhou Samsung Electronics and the director of Suzhou Research Institute of Household Appliances.
In June, 2012, he was invited to join Midea Group Washing Machine Division and appointed as deputy general manager of Wuxi Little Swan Company Limited.
In April 2014, in order to meet the need of Midea Group operation transformation, he was appointed as the vice president and CTO of Midea Group as well as the dean of Midea Group Central Research Center, also known as CRC. Dr Hu took on the important task of building the large research and development system in Midea Group. Being the core technology scientific research institute under Midea Group, CRC took on the medium and long-term technology, basic technology and subversive technology research in Midea Group and undertook technical innovation, platform innovation, technology strategy and system innovation of Midea Group, to become a world-class innovative research and development institution.
From July, 2018, he was vice president of Midea Group and CTO mainly to push user experience improvement, product and technology planning, and technical research resources optimization.
Dr. Hu has the work experience in three Global Fortune 500 companies in R&D and R&D management. He also has profound attainments on vibration noise research. He owned nearly 20 U.S patents and got GE Whitney Award for many times. He has deep understanding on innovation strategy, construction of open innovation system and systematic organization of global R&D layout.
