The 2022 EU-China Tech & Industry Webinar on Smart Manufacturing was held on Nov 16 during the 24th China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) that took place in Shenzhen, Guangdong province from Nov 15 to 19.

 

Nearly 50 experts, scholars and enterprise representatives from China and Europe in the fields of intelligent manufacturing and industrial manufacturing attended the webinar.

 

Johannes Vizethum, executive director of the German Institute for Industry 4.0 said that in the era of Industry 4.0, the realization of highly interconnected technology requires factory production machines to go online, and should combine with software and data analysis, to form a more efficient and cost-saving production scheme.

 

China and Europe have complementary strengths in sustainable manufacturing, smart industry and industrial robotics, said Johannes, adding that it is necessary for scientific research institutions, experts, scholars and enterprises in China and Europe to cooperate together to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing and achieve a breakthrough in global intelligent production.

Sara Medina, principal of the European Network of Research and Innovation Centers and Hubs (ENRICH), also expressed her opinions that the development of advanced intelligent manufacturing in China and Europe needs to bring together industry experts, scholars and enterprise leaders and make efforts for the joint innovation and development of global intelligent manufacturing.

 

The head of NexGen in China, Li Mingju, noted that China is one of the major markets for new energy vehicles and intelligent manufacturing, and that the intelligent manufacturing industry showed a strong growth trend in 2022. China will have better development advantages in the field of new energy vehicles and intelligent manufacturing in the future.
