China Hi-Tech Fair 2017 in Bahrain, Estonia and Germany

The overseas sessions of China Hi-Tech Fair 2017 were held successively in Bahrain, Estonia and Germany from 24th May to 1st June. The Chinese delegation included nearly 40 entrepreneurs and 60 representatives.

On May 2017, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) approved membership of Bahrain. On this occasion, China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) was held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain. At the event, H.E. Khalid Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB), and Mr. Chen Biao, Vice Mayor of Shenzhen, agreed on establishment of Shenzhen-Bahrain partnership and bilateral cooperation. There were 150 attendants, including high-level government officials, officials of chamber of commerce and industry, entrepreneurs and representatives from businesses in the field of finance and technology. The event had arranged more than 100 match-making meetings between Bahraini and Chinese enterprises. Five significant agreements were signed between Shenzhen and Bahrain, including MOU on Shenzhen-Bahrain Cross-Border E-commerce Cooperation, MOU on Shenzhen-Bahrain Innovation and Entrepreneurship Express, Huawei-Bahrain Telecom Talents Training Agreement and etc. The EDB has confirmed to organize their delegation group to attend the CHTF 2017 in Shenzhen, and will expand the exhibiting area.

It was an optimal time to hold the overseas session in Tallinn, Estonia in May right after Vice Premier of the State Council’s state visit to Estonia on April 2017. At the CHTF in Estonia, Mr. Chen Biao discussed scientific and technological cooperation with officials of Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications and Enterprise Estonia (EAS). The successful stories about cooperation between SF Express and Post11 and Estonian e-solutions presented at the event aroused great interest among attendants.

The CHTF in Germany (Nuremberg) coincided with the 20th anniversary of sister-city relationships between Nuremberg and Shenzhen. In the opening, the hit topics focused on Industries 4.0, the investment climate and opportunities in Bavaria and other key contents. Mr. Chen Biao had a high-level meeting with Dr. Michael Fraas, Deputy Mayor of Economic Affairs, Nuremberg. Over 100 politicians and businessmen coming from Bavaria and Nuremberg presented at this event. Many Chinese and Germany companies reached cooperation intention in about 100 match-making meetings. The Nuremberg Chamber of Commerce and Industry confirms to participate in CHTF in China and Invest in Bavaria will debut in the German Pavilion this year.
