Let's glance at AI big names at CHTF

In recent years, internet giants and startups have invested heavily in artificial intelligence (AI), and academics as well as industrialists have participated in AI research.  

Every year, in addition to high-quality exhibitions, the China Hi-tech Fair (CHTF) holds forums, professional technical conferences and other supporting activities. The latest ideas and insights in AI are brought together at the gathering of academicians, entrepreneurs, executives and researchers in the AI field. 

 

Let's take a look at the big names that appeared at previous China Hi-tech Fairs. 

Derek Aberle is currently the president of US chip giant Qualcomm Inc, having served as the executive vice president and group president of Qualcomm and the president of Qualcomm Technology Licensing. He is responsible for Qualcomm's technology and intellectual property licensing business and the company's many early-stage businesses. Aberle attended the opening forum of the 18th CHTF and gave a wonderful speech. 

 

 Professor Yao Qizhi is an academician of the National Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a founding member of the Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, and a winner of the 2000 Turing Award.  

 

 

At the opening forum of last year's fair, he gave a keynote speech on the prospects of international science and technology cooperation and the impact of China's scientific and technological innovation on world development, sharing his latest thinking on computer and information science theory. 

Professor Xu Yangsheng is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen). He has been working hard to explore the maximum potential of robots. He is involved in the design and development of more than 30 robots and intelligent systems, including space station mobile robots and split-type lunar robots. AI was one of the key topics in the 19th CHTF and Xu was one of the keynote speakers on AI at the opening forum. 

 

 Scott Beaumont, vice president of Google and president of Google Greater China, was the co-founder and CEO of Refresh Mobile and executive vice president of T-mobile. He has rich experience in the telecommunications industry. At CHTF 2017, he attended the thematic forum of Innovation and Future Technology and brought unique insights into the latest development of TensorFlow and the application and development of AI in China. 

  

 

Wang Haifeng is the head of Baidu's AI Technology Platform System AIG. He has published more than 100 academic papers on AI and applied his expertise to Baidu's development in neuro-linguistic programming, computer mathematics, speech recognition and deep learning.  

 

At last year's hi-tech fair, he attended the Innovation and Future Technology Forum and delivered a speech on AI. 

 The heavyweight guests who attended the hi-tech fair are far more than the above. This year marks the 20th session of CHTF. It will set up four major forums including the China Hi-Tech Forum Opening Forum and the Innovation Drives High Quality Development Forum, giving comprehensive and multi-faceted interpretation of new artificial intelligence and other hot topics.
