With less than a month left until the opening of the 20th China Hi-tech Fair (CHTF 2018), the city of Shenzhen held a pep rally on Oct 18.
Wang Lixin, vice mayor of Shenzhen, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech. Jia Xingdong, director of the economic, trade and information commission of Shenzhen municipality, gave a brief introduction to the city's preparations for the upcoming fair.
During his speech, Wang expressed his gratitude to those who have made great efforts in all aspects of fair preparation. He also noted three key aspects that should be focused on for the last spurt of the process.
The first is that the CHTF, which has been held for 19 consecutive years, should aim to be a name card for Shenzhen's hi-tech industry. The CHTF shoulders the mission of servicing the construction of an innovative country and the construction of an innovative Shenzhen. In the newest stage of Shenzhen's reform, opening-up, innovation and development, it is necessary to raise the CHTF's sense of responsibility and mission to a higher position.
The second is that the CHTF should strive to build itself into a first-rate tech fair. He urged the fair to be more productive year by year and continue to maintain and expand its advantages among many similar exhibitions.
The third aspect concerned details and organization. Wang hopes that all of those involved in the fair’s preparation will strengthen coordination, form a joint effort, ensure safety and smoothness; provide a considerate reception service, promote the image of the city and create a good public opinion atmosphere.
